-Ansel Adams said: “There are always two people in every picture: the photographer and the viewer.” I’ d like to take it one step further, for me, there are multiple people to every picture: the photographer, the subject/subjects/model/muse/ and then those that view. It’s what each photographer deems necessary to their particular style. I’ve come to enjoy photographing people. I love to see the smiles they generate when they see themselves after being told they are not photogenic or they don’t photograph well. We are all beautiful, doesn’t matter what size, color, or gender. So I’m adding to my photographic journey, The Portrait Series as of September 15, 2017.
I’ve been working on natural lighting vs off camera flash with a mannequin, I’m happy to say that I now have models to work with, Deja and Brandon. What a difference lighting and a few accessories can make.
UPDATE: It’s been almost a year and I’m happy with how my Portrait Series has come along. I’ve taken a little more than 365 pictures for my Portrait Series. That’s a picture a day for the past year. Like some of my other series, Judged, Home not Homeless, Uncle Sam, I’ll continue The Portrait Series. In 2019 I’ll start printing and framing for a 2020 Art Show.
